Pre-placement screening is one of Medisys’ core competencies. Medisys offers a wide range of pre-placement examinations (PPEs) that can be customized to your needs. We have been providing this service to a diverse range of clients in both unionized and non-unionized environments for many years.

Our PPEs determine the candidate’s ability to meet the bona fide occupational requirements of the job prior to the start of employment. This allows the employer to identify individuals who are unable to safely perform essential job duties, thereby potentially exposing themselves, co-workers and/or the public to serious health and safety risks.

By significantly reducing the frequency of lost work days and related medical costs, PPEs assist in lowering both the direct and indirect costs associated with illness or injury. PPEs are also useful in establishing a baseline of the employee’s physical abilities and functions. This baseline can then be compared to functional ability levels following illness or injury, which assists in safely returning the employee to the workplace.

PPEs are recommended for employees subject to:

• Continuous repetitive motion
• High noise levels
• Extreme variations in temperature
• Exposure to hazardous substances
