Professional Dental CT Scan Services in Montreal for Mandibular and Maxillary or Dental Implant Surgery

A dental implant is a highly sophisticated procedure. The more information your dental specialist has about the anatomy of your mouth before your dental implant, the better the outcome. Important information includes the width and density of your bony ridge, which helps to assess implant feasibility and the exact placement of your alveolar nerve, which prevents painful nerve damage.

Medisys now also offers Nobel Guide Scans

Traditional x-rays provide only a limited two-dimensional view. Although they show the height and contour of the bony ridge, they give no information on the width and density of the bone and may distort the placement of the alveolar nerve. 3D dental scanning takes all of the guesswork out of implants. This quick and safe exam produces life-like views of your mouth that let your dental specialist determine pre-surgically if you are a candidate for implants.

Patient Information
Your CT dental scan will be performed at our clinic using a 16-slice CT scan. For your convenience and comfort, you will always be in direct communication with our technologist through an intercom and a clear glass wall. The procedure takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete.

There is no special preparation required for the procedure. Any removable dentures are usually taken out before the exam. On occasion, you may be asked to wear a “stent” or small mouthpiece during the scan. The stent will mark certain reference points for the implant sites.
