Travel Health Appointment FAQ
When should I book my appointment?
Although it is recommended that you visit our travel
clinic 6 to 8 weeks prior to your departure, there
are accelerated versions of some vaccines that
can maximize your protection–even in last-minute
travellers. Our medical team will provide you with
the most protection possible specific to your situation.
Fees and payment
Travel health consultations are not covered by Medicare
in Canada. Many private insurance companies reimburse
travel vaccination-related fees in whole or in
part. You will be given a receipt for insurance
purposes. Please contact your insurance carrier
for further information regarding your individual
policy and coverage.
What should I bring to my appointment?
- Your completed travel assessment form
- Your vaccination booklet (if you have one)
- Your complete itinerary with dates of departure
and length of stay
- An up-to-date list of health problems and dosages
of any medication you are taking
