DR. JAY KEYSTONE
Consulting Attending Physician

Dr. Jay S. Keystone is Professor, Department
of Medicine, and Director, International Health
Programs, at the University of Toronto. He is
also a staff physician at the Centre for Travel
and Tropical Medicine at the Toronto General
Hospital. Dr. Keystone received his medical degree
from the University of Toronto with Honours (1964-1969).
He completed his internship at Toronto General
Hospital and his residency at Sunnybrook Hospital,
Toronto, as well as the University of Michigan
Medical Center, Ann Arbor. He did postgraduate
work in Clinical Tropical Medicine at the London
School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Dr.
Keystone has received numerous honours and has
held medical society positions worldwide. He
is past-president of the International Society
of Travel Medicine, the clinical division of
the American Society of Tropical Medicine, and
the Canadian Society of International Health.
He has served on editorial boards of Canadian
and American journals, and he has been published
in many distinguished international journals.
Dr. Keystone is a renowned lecturer in the fields
of travel and tropical medicine.
DR. ROBERT O’BRIEN
Dr. Robert O’Brien has served as Consultant
for Medisys’ Travel Health Clinics since 2001.
He obtained his medical degree from McGill University
in 1992, completing his residency in Family Medicine
as a member of the Canadian College of Family
Physicians in 1994. From McGill University’s
Department of Family Medicine, Dr. O’Brien went
on to work for the Medical Service of the Canadian
Armed Forces, travelling extensively across Canada
as Marine Lieutenant, General Medical Officer
for the Department of National Defense. As Officer,
he participated in the United Nations Aid Mission
to Haiti from 1996-1997. Since completing this
aspect of this career, Dr. O’Brien has worked
throughout Québec as a family physician
as well as a consultant for travel health clinics.
With many publications to his credit, he has
served both as Clinical Research Investigator
and as a specialist in the study of HIV/AIDS
for the federal penal system.
