CEO, MEDISYS HEALTH GROUP, AKIRA
John Mozas is the CEO of the Medisys Health Group and Akira, two companies of TELUS Health. As CEO of MHG, John oversees the strategy and operations of the group’s clinics and programs, with the goal of offering the best medical care and customer experience to all its patients.
Before taking on the leadership of MHG, John co-founded Right Health in 2016 with the vision of enhancing the way medicine is delivered to millions of Canadians. Right Health acquired Akira Medical a year later with TELUS Health as a strategic partner, and Akira is now the virtual care service in MHG’s portfolio of services. Akira allows patients to consult with clinicians for diagnoses, prescriptions, referrals, and more. The service is available on-demand across Canada, 24/7/365.
Prior to founding Right Health, John was President and CEO of the Medcan Clinic for 12 years, where he led the growth of the organization from 30 employees to 350, with 85 clinicians across 20 specialties and sub-specialties. Under John’s leadership, the organization was named one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies for 5 years running, as well as one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures.
John also held leadership positions at Grocery Gateway and GlaxoSmithKline after working at the Boston Consulting Group. He is currently on the board of Back in Motion and Midland Appliances, both Ironbridge Equity Partners businesses; he has also been an active member and held several leadership positions for the Young President’s Organization.
John received his MBA from the Schulich School of Business and his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto. He volunteers extensively in the community, along with his wife and two adult children Jack and Reid.
Howard Goldstein, MD
CORPORATE MEDICAL DIRECTOR, MEDISYS EXECUTIVE HEALTH
Dr. Howard Goldstein serves as Corporate Medical Director for Medisys Executive Health. In this role, he provides leadership and sets direction for medical care in the company. Dr. Goldstein co-chairs Medisys’ national Medical Standards and Quality Committee, providing thought leadership and guidance to our national network of physicians and clinics.
Dr. Goldstein has over twenty-five years of experience with clinical, academic, and administrative care excellence. His clinical experience includes work in outpatient clinics, obstetrical care, hospital ward work, emergency room care, and geriatric long term care. In addition to his role as Corporate Medical Director, Dr. Goldstein is directly responsible for Medisys’ Montreal based executive health clinics. Prior to joining Medisys, Dr. Goldstein was Assistant-Chief of the Department of Family Medicine and director of an in-patient family medicine ward at the Jewish General Hospital (JGH) in Montreal. Previously, he served as director of residency education for one of McGill University’s hospital based family practice training facilities. In addition, he was elected to and served on the JGH’s medical executive committee, as secretary-treasurer, and assisted with insuring appropriate care and quality services for the institution.
Dr. Howard Goldstein graduated from McGill University School of Medicine, as well as its Family Medicine residency program. He remains an Assistant Professor in the department of Family Medicine at McGill, and is a Fellow of the Canadian College of Family Practice.
VICE PRESIDENT, OPERATIONS – MEDISYS HEALTH GROUP
Michelle Cialdella is the Vice President Operations for Medisys Health Group. In her role, she is responsible for directing all Medisys clinics and operations, delivering the gold standard of service to Medisys’ clients, and supporting integration and implementation of health solutions to corporations, mainly in occupational and preventive health solutions, onsite services and campaigns as well as virtual care. She is also responsible of corporate functions including marketing, P&C and acquisition integration.
Michelle has gained an impressive degree of experience as a leader in operations, customer care, marketing, communication, and sales. Prior to joining Medisys, Michelle acted as a consultant, specialized in operations and change management. She has worked extensively for Bell Canada, where she led teams through the corporation’s transformation, and managed the sales, marketing and operations for small and medium businesses (SMBs) and the Bell Canada Enterprise market space.
Michelle has also worked as the Customer Care Director for Group Benefit and Group Retirement Services at Sun Life Financial (Canada). Michelle holds a business degree from the École des Sciences de la Gestion at the Université du Québec à Montréal. Actively involved in non-profit organizations and activities, Michelle is an ambassador for Leucan, an association promoting the recovery and the well-being of cancer stricken children and supports their families by providing distinctive and tailored services and assistance through every stage of cancer and its side-effects.
Vivien Brown, MD
VICE-PRESIDENT, MEDICAL AFFAIRS, MEDISYS EXECUTIVE HEALTH
Dr. Brown is the Vice-President of Medical Affairs for Medisys Corporate Health. She focuses on advancing and promoting preventative healthcare. Dr. Brown is active in numerous organizations including as VP North America of the Medical Women’s International Association representing women physicians worldwide, in over 90 countries. She was also recently asked to become a member of the prestigious International Women’s Forum.
Previously Dr. Brown was President of the Federation of Medical Women of Canada, former Chair of the Consumer Education Committee for the North American Menopause Society. She is a board member of the Women’s Brain Health Initiative, and Health Choices First, as well as numerous provincial and federal advisory bodies.
Brown’s speaking engagements focus on reducing cancer risks and prevention, adult immunization and vaccine-preventable diseases, stress in the workplace and stress management, health promotion and healthy aging, osteoporosis prevention, menopause, and healthy hormonal alternatives, and women and health.

Sheldon Elman, MD
FOUNDER, MEDISYS HEALTH GROUP
Dr. Elman opened his first clinic in 1987 with the goal of treating health issues before they become medical problems, not once they are diagnosed. Over the years, Dr. Elman made it his mission to provide his patients with the highest quality care and oversaw Medisys’ growth from a single-office provider of executive health services to Canada’s leading national corporate healthcare service provider with clinics nationwide.
Despite being the Chairman Emeritus of Medisys Health Group and actively serving on several boards, Dr. Elman is still a practicing physician who always puts his patients first. “I want to make sure we are offering our patients the latest, cutting edge technology and equipment and leading evidence-based medical treatments, advice and care in a way that is as comfortable, personalized, and as comprehensive as it can be.”
